Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine water, unsalted butter, salt, and sugar. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and add plain flour, stirring until smooth.
  2. Add egg and vanilla essence to the dough. Blend with an electric mixer on low until smooth, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Transfer dough to a piping bag with a star tip. Preheat air fryer to 375°F and spray basket with nonstick cooking spray. Pipe churros into the basket.
  4. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter and brush piping churros with it. Cook in the air fryer for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Mix white sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl. Toss warm churros in the mixture immediately after frying.
  6. Serve warm with choice of dipping sauces like chocolate syrup or Nutella.
