Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup pickled jalapeños chopped
  • 12 ounces beer lager or pale ale
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and onion powder until well combined.
  3. Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped jalapeños until evenly distributed.
  4. Pour in the beer and melted butter, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix; the batter should be slightly lumpy.
  5. Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
