Step-by-Step Instructions for Snowballs
  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, beat eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy for about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Incorporate vanilla essence and oil into the egg-sugar mixture, mixing until combined.
  4. Sift cake flour, baking powder, and salt together, then fold into the wet mixture alternating with milk.
  5. Pour batter into the greased pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Combine sugar and water in a saucepan and boil to prepare the syrup, adding food coloring if desired.
  7. Once cooled, cut the cake into squares or form small balls.
  8. Dip each piece in warm syrup and roll in desiccated coconut to coat.
