  • 1 can canned tuna drained
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs can substitute with crushed crackers or panko
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese or any cheese of choice
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise can substitute with lemon juice
  • seasonings (salt, pepper, onion powder) adjust to taste
Optional Topping
  • slices sliced cheese for melting on top

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine tuna, breadcrumbs, egg, cheddar cheese, mayonnaise, and seasonings. Stir until well mixed.
  2. Scoop out portions and form patties about 3 inches in diameter. Refrigerate for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook each patty for about 4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  4. Top patties with cheese during the last minute of cooking and cover to melt.
  5. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels. Serve warm on bread, English muffins, or plain.
