Ingredients
  

For the Cabbage
  • 1 head Cabbage fresh green cabbage is best
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil for brushing
For the Meat Mixture
  • 1 pound Ground Beef or Ground Turkey
  • 1 small Onion finely chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic fresh minced
  • 1 large Egg optional
  • 1 teaspoon Salt adjust to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika substitute with regular paprika if needed
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce or soy sauce
For the Topping
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheese cheddar or mozzarella

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the cabbage into thick rounds, about ½ inch thick, and brush both sides with olive oil.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, onion, garlic, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and Worcestershire sauce. Optionally, add the egg.
  4. Press a generous handful of the meat mixture onto each cabbage slice, shaping into patties.
  5. Place the cabbage burgers on the lined baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes until cooked through.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top of each patty and broil for an additional 3-5 minutes until cheese is melted and golden.
  7. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, and serve garnished with fresh parsley and your favorite dipping sauces.
