Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 4 cups water
  • 4 tea bags black or green tea
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar adjust to taste
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish optional

Method
 

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
  2. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the tea bags. Let steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on your desired strength.
  3. While the tea is steeping, place the sliced strawberries in a blender and puree until smooth.
  4. After steeping, remove the tea bags and stir in the granulated sugar until dissolved.
  5. Add the strawberry puree and fresh lemon juice to the tea, mixing well.
  6. Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour to chill.
  7. Serve over ice and garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
