- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut the cabbage into ½-inch thick slices and brush both sides with olive oil.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Add the egg if using and mix well.
- Form the meat mixture into patties that fit on the cabbage slices and press them gently onto the cabbage.
- Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for approximately 25 minutes.
- If desired, sprinkle cheese on top of the burgers and broil for an additional 3-5 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.
