Method

Step-by-Step Instructions for One Pan Thai Basil Beef
  1. Thinly slice the flank steak into bite-sized strips and marinate it in a mixing bowl with avocado oil, arrowroot flour, kosher salt, and black pepper. Allow the beef to sit for about 10 minutes to absorb the flavors while you gather the rest of your ingredients and heat your pan for the next steps.
  2. Heat a large frying pan over medium-high heat and add a splash of avocado oil. Cook the marinated beef in batches for about 3 minutes on each side until browned but not fully cooked. Remove the beef from the pan and set it aside, ensuring the pan remains hot for the next round of cooking.
  3. In the same pan, add the sliced red bell peppers and white onion, sautéing them for around 7 minutes or until they are tender and slightly caramelized. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.
  4. Return the cooked beef to the pan and add minced garlic, coconut aminos, and fish sauce. Stir well to combine everything, letting it simmer for about 3 minutes.
  5. Remove the pan from heat and gently stir in the fresh Thai basil leaves, allowing them to wilt slightly.
  6. Plate the One Pan Thai Basil Beef over jasmine rice or cauliflower rice. Garnish generously with chopped cilantro and sliced green onions.
