Pumpkin Bread Preparation
- In a medium bowl, combine cold, cubed unsalted butter, all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, and cinnamon to create the streusel topping. Mix until crumbly and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients: pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually add half of the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until incorporated. Add milk and remaining dry ingredients, stirring gently until combined.
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease a loaf pan and pour the batter, smoothing the top. Sprinkle the chilled streusel on top.
- Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
- Let the bread cool for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Whisk together powdered sugar and maple syrup, and drizzle over the cooled bread.

Notes
Use fresh pumpkin puree and spices for best flavor, and avoid overmixing to keep the bread light and moist.
