Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Heat 2 tablespoons of canola oil in a large, oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Add sliced Polish kielbasa and cook for 3-5 minutes until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add sliced onions, seasoning with salt and pepper. Sauté for 4-5 minutes until softened and caramelized.
- Stir in sauerkraut and caraway seeds, then pour in chicken stock or beer and add stone-ground mustard. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Nestle the frozen pierogies into the mixture, returning the kielbasa to the skillet and mixing gently.
- Sprinkle grated white cheddar and Swiss cheese evenly over the top.
- Transfer to the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes until cheese is bubbling and golden.
