  • 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter Should be very soft, not melted
For the Strawberry Filling
  • 2 cups Fresh or Frozen Strawberries Opt for ripe strawberries for the best flavor
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
For the Cream Cheese Glaze
  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese Full-fat for the best consistency
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 cup Cold Strawberry Puree

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Medium saucepan
  • Baking Dish
  • wooden spoon
  • Rolling Pin
  • Knife

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the Strawberry Filling by combining fresh or frozen strawberries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir frequently for about 10-15 minutes until the strawberries break down and the mixture thickens.
  2. Make the Dough by whisking together all-purpose flour, sugar, salt, and instant dry yeast. Gradually pour in warm milk, then add softened unsalted butter and room-temperature egg. Mix until a cohesive dough forms.
  3. Punch down the risen dough gently to release the air. Roll it into a rectangle, spread the cooled strawberry filling, roll into a log shape, and slice into 12 equal rolls.
  4. Place the sliced rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise in a warm spot for about 30-60 minutes.
  5. Bake the rolls in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes, until they turn golden brown.
  6. Prepare the Cream Cheese Glaze by mixing together softened cream cheese, unsalted butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and cold strawberry puree until smooth.
  7. Glaze the rolls while they are still warm by generously spreading the cream cheese glaze over the tops.
