Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease an 8x8-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine softened cream cheese, mayonnaise (or sour cream), garlic powder, onion powder, and a sprinkle of salt and black pepper. Beat the mixture on medium speed for about 2-3 minutes until it transforms into a smooth and creamy base.
  3. Gently fold in the chopped hard-boiled eggs into the creamy mixture.
  4. Stir in most of the shredded sharp cheddar cheese, reserving a handful for the topping.
  5. Spread the creamy mixture evenly into your prepared baking dish. Top with reserved cheddar cheese and breadcrumbs or crushed crackers.
  6. Place the dish in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the topping is golden brown.
  7. Remove the dip from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
