Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Slice the French bread loaves in half lengthwise and place them cut-side up on a baking sheet.
In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Brush this mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
Spread marinara sauce over each half of the bread, then sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
Drizzle the honey over the cheese, and if desired, sprinkle red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove from the oven and let cool for a couple of minutes. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if using.
Slice into pieces and serve warm.
