Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water about 110°F
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil plus extra for drizzling
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • Coarse sea salt for sprinkling

Method

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. Add the olive oil, flour, and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  6. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a greased baking sheet. Press it out into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
  7. Use your fingers to create dimples all over the surface of the dough. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, oregano, rosemary, and coarse sea salt.
  8. Let the dough rest for another 20 minutes.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing.
