Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese cheddar or Mexican blend
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish optional

Method

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the honey, BBQ sauce, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is well combined and heated through.
  4. While the beef mixture is cooking, warm the tortillas in a separate skillet or microwave until pliable.
  5. To assemble the tacos, place a generous scoop of the beef mixture onto each tortilla. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, and a dollop of sour cream.
  6. Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired. Serve immediately.
