Preparation Steps
  1. Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water and honey or sugar, stirring until dissolved. Sprinkle the active dry yeast over the mixture and let it foam for about 10 minutes.
  2. Step 2: In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt. Pour the foamy yeast mixture and olive oil into the well, mixing until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Step 3: Cover the bowl with a towel or plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 to 3 hours.
  4. Step 4: Melt the salted butter in a saucepan over low heat. Add minced garlic and chopped parsley, simmering for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Step 5: Once risen, pour the garlic-herb butter over the dough and stretch and fold the dough eight times. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
  6. Step 6: Generously grease a baking pan with olive oil. Place the dough in the pan, stretching it to fit, and cover it to rise for another 45 minutes.
  7. Step 7: Preheat your oven to 450°F. Dimple the surface of the dough, sprinkle with Parmesan, drizzle with olive oil, and bake for 18-22 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Step 8: Allow to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
