Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a mini muffin tin thoroughly with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk together until no lumps remain.
- In another bowl, mix together buttermilk, egg, and melted butter until smooth.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined.
- Fill each mini muffin cup about ¾ full with the batter, and add mix-ins if desired.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Insert a toothpick to check; it should come out clean.
- Cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then remove and serve warm with maple syrup, powdered sugar, or whipped cream.
