Add the dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir well and let the sauce simmer for an additional 3-5 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.
Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes before using. If desired, garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
