Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)

Method

  1. In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to let it brown.
  2. Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
  3. Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  4. Add the dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir well and let the sauce simmer for an additional 3-5 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.
  5. Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes before using. If desired, garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

  • If you want to add a bit of zest, mix in a teaspoon of lemon juice just before serving.
  • This sauce also works great as a dip for breadsticks or veggies!
