Cooking Steps
- Cook the bacon in a large skillet on low heat for 10-12 minutes until crisp. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to cool and chop.
 - Using the bacon drippings, increase heat to medium-high, season and sear the chicken until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Set aside.
 - Cook the rotini pasta in boiling salted water for 8-10 minutes until al dente, then drain, reserving a cup of pasta water.
 - In the same skillet, melt butter over medium-low heat, sauté garlic, whisk in flour, then slowly stir in half and half, simmering until thickened.
 - Mix in ranch seasoning and cheddar cheese until melted, then fold in cooked pasta and chicken.
 - Top with chopped bacon, mix lightly, and serve warm with optional cheese or herbs.
