Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar for dusting

Method

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
  5. Divide the dough into four equal pieces and roll each piece into a long rope, about 12 inches in length.
  6. Twist two ropes together to form a spiral shape and place them on a parchment-lined air fryer basket.
  7. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F. Air fry the twists for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. While the twists are baking, mix the cinnamon and powdered sugar in a small bowl.
  9. Once the twists are done, remove them from the air fryer and immediately sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  10. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
