Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Unroll the first can of crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, 1 cup of granulated sugar, and a splash of vanilla extract. Beat until smooth and creamy.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the crescent dough.
  5. Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and place it over the cream cheese filling, pinching the seams to seal.
  6. In a small bowl, melt a few tablespoons of unsalted butter and mix with ground cinnamon and ¼ cup of granulated sugar.
  7. Brush the melted butter over the top of the crescent roll layer and sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  9. Allow to cool completely before slicing into squares.
