- In a medium microwave-safe bowl, add 3 cups of Corn or Rice Chex. Melt 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate in the microwave by heating it at 50% power for 30 seconds. Stir, then continue heating in 15-second intervals until smooth and fully melted.
- Pour the melted chocolate over the Chex, stirring gently with a spatula until every piece is coated. In a large Ziploc bag, add ½ cup of powdered sugar and 5 crushed Butterfinger bars. Carefully transfer the chocolate-coated Chex into the bag, seal it tightly, and shake until everything is well-coated.
- Spread the mixture out onto a parchment-lined baking sheet to let it dry completely.
- In another medium bowl, place 3 cups of Chex and microwave ¾ cup of creamy peanut butter for about 20 seconds until it's warm and pourable. Drizzle the warmed peanut butter over the Chex, mixing gently.
- Take the peanut butter-coated Chex and place them into a clean Ziploc bag. Add another ½ cup of powdered sugar and 5 more crushed Butterfinger bars. Shake until every piece is generously coated.
- Combine the chocolate-covered and peanut butter-coated Chex in a large mixing bowl. Add in the remaining 6 Butterfinger bars cut into chunks.
- Scoop the Butterfinger Muddy Buddies into small cups or snack bags for sharing. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
