Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Place the split English muffins on a baking sheet, cut side up.
Spread about 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce on each muffin half.
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce on each muffin.
In a skillet, cook the crumbled breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat and distribute the sausage over the cheese on each muffin.
In the same skillet, sauté the diced bell pepper and red onion until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Sprinkle the vegetables over the sausage on each muffin.
Crack one egg onto each muffin half, being careful not to break the yolk. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the egg whites are set and the yolks are cooked to your liking.
Remove from the oven and let cool for a minute. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
