  • 2 filets Salmon Filets wild Alaskan sockeye for best flavor
  • 1 tbsp Cajun Seasoning store-bought blend
  • 1 tbsp Coconut Sugar or brown sugar; can substitute honey
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika regular paprika works if needed
  • 1 tsp Salt adjust based on Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil or avocado oil for high smoke point
For the Spicy Tartar Sauce
  • 1 cup Mayonnaise or vegan mayo for dairy-free
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 tbsp Hot Sauce like Frank's for heat
  • 2 tbsp Pickle Relish or chopped capers as substitute
  • 1 tsp Additional Cajun Seasoning to taste
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place the salmon filets on the prepared baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, and salt.
  3. Bake the salmon for 12 minutes, or until opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  4. Mix mayonnaise, lemon juice, hot sauce, and pickle relish in a bowl; add Cajun seasoning and smoked paprika, stirring well.
  5. Remove salmon from the oven, let it rest briefly, then serve warm with spicy tartar sauce on the side.
