Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt before gradually combining with the wet mixture.

  7. Roll teaspoon-sized balls and flatten slightly on the baking sheet.

  9. Prepare the buttercream by beating softened butter, then gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt until fluffy.
